Fully Featured Multiviewer in a 3RU Chassis
The MP-xx has been designed to provide a flexible and cost-effective way of combining multiple images (or “tiles”) on a single or dual video display device. 

It is ideal for use in live production, broadcasting, post production suites and OB environments. 

The 3RU frame consists of 20 modular slots, 2 of which are reserved for the Network and Control output cards. Video or audio input or output cards are avaliable for the other 18 slots. Up to 9 independent dual output Multiviewer instances can be added to the 3RU MP-xx frame supporting up to 24 outputs or alternative up to 144 video input channels. 

The MP-xx has drawn on Chromatec’s audio metering expertise by providing extensive audio metering and monitoring support as a standard feature of the unit. Up to 16 channels of audio may be displayed per tile, superimposed as bargraphs on the video or placed outside the video. The audio source may be embedded or external analogue, AES/EBU or Dolby® depending on the optional cards selected. Most international standard scales and ballistics (including Loudness) are supported and may be set by the user. 

The MP-xx offers a vast range of features, including tally support, sophisticated Video/Audio/Metadata alarms, Under Monitor Display, Genlock input, multiple clocks and timers, etc. The Multi-viewer software features entirely customizable PIP sizes, integrated audio metering, border/tally and UMD support. This offers a sophisticated and entirely configurable ability to create layouts to best fit your production environments. The software is entirely open source, offered free of charge, including future updates for the longevity of the product. 

Future expansion is easy with the MP-xx - additional video or audio input cards can be added in the future up to the frames capacity. Alternatively, if the 1RU SMP-xx frame is currently being used, and the input requirements expands that frame, the same cards (including the network and Output Control cards) can be ported to the MP-xx frame to expand your system.

MONITORING AND ALARMS

  • Audio metering may be sourced from SDI embedded audio groups (PCM or Dolby-E metadata meter segment), or externally via optional analogue and AES/EBU inputs with sample rate conversion)
  • Fully configurable audio metering up to 32 channels per video tile with left/right or split meters. 
  • Analog and digital clocks controlled by LTC input or NTP (Network protocol)
  • Teletext subtitles display (WST on SD-SDI or OP-47 on HD-SDI)

The SMP-xx frame works on a slots sytem - with 4 slots allocated for Video Processing Cards - 4, 8, 12 or 16 input multiviewers can be easily configured. Analogue or digital input and output cards can also be added.
